This week, I discuss the relationship between the heroic attitude and depression and how to overcome this dynamic which is not very healthy. We can achieve and accomplish many wonderful things and we can do so with gusto and passion. But it’s the inner attitude we hold and the reason behind our work that defines the energy and makes it either a heroic ego-pursuit or a true and honest labor of love.
DLM # 65 Dance As A Form Of Resistance
We all need to let go of our incessant need to control and dominate others through the use of force and aggression.
THAT’S what it means to be a dancer.
THAT’S WHAT IT MEANS TO RESIST. The real challenge lies within.
DLM # 64 The Dwelling Place
Salutations!
I’m rather pleased with this week’s work. I hope you enjoy it, too.
How do you spend your time? I spend my days reading, dancing, writing, exercising, playing with my dog, rolling around in the grass, meditating. I still get a lot of work done each week. But I don’t hold on to things as tightly as I once did.
If you dance regularly, you will be able to let go a little bit, too.
Enjoy the week!
DLM # 63 Musings On Consciousness
Sending love on a hot Sunday.
DLM # 62 Turn On The Lights!
This week’s sermon took some interesting twists and turns which made it longer than usual. I hope you enjoy all the bonus material.
DLM # 61 Imagination Is God
Feeling so quiet today. Less is more.
DLM # 60 Ocnus and the Old Drowning Man
This week, I talk about a couple of psychological elements that Psyche encounters in the underworld during her fourth task. A very psychological sermon this week, folks. But since psychology and religion are synonyms and there’s music, I feel sure we’ll arrive at the right place on the map.
Wisdom and truth and music and peace. Love, too, and joy. To get there, we have to be riding on the correct energy train. I’m suggesting peace and freedom as dependable and sturdy vehicles for getting where we need to go.
DLM # 58 The Homeland of Consciousness
This week I talk about where we dwell inwardly, in which house, in which room, in which country, in which homeland. Our energetic frequencies—the ones we absorb and the ones we distribute—deeply affect the material reality we observe around us. To change the world, we need to change ourselves.
We mustn’t conflate our passion for social causes with actual inner truth. Countless people can be inspired to effect change and still be projecting their own darkness and shadow material all over individuals and the world.
We have to beware of our own delusions and our own hubris at every turn, especially when we’re impassioned and inflamed.
DLM # 57 The Ethos of the Soul
Love is the answer to everything.
DLM # 56 Why Is War Our Only Language?
This sermon was written in response to the wild protests that have been occurring across the country as a result of the killing by the police of another unarmed black man. As you will see, I am not in agreement with the methods people are using for effecting meaningful change and I explain why in the sermon.
I’d like you to just imagine how different the energy would be if people were singing and dancing in harmony and unity in the streets instead of behaving in this truly hysterical fashion, just stoking the fires of enmity among all.
War begets more war. That’s all there is to it. It is time we that we forget the patriarchal language of war and started to speak the language of peace and love. That is the only things will ever change.
Dance and spread love. Anything else is pure cowardice.
Sorry things are so crazy, Mom! Happy Birthday!
DLM # 55 Nothing For It But To Find Liberation
This week, I discuss why practically everything is a waste of time if becoming liberated in your consciousness isn’t the first priority.
Dancing can lead us there.
DLM # 54 Into The Mystic
“We were born before the wind. . .”
We’re leaving the world of our fathers behind in this second year of DLM. That’s enough of all that.
Let’s dance.
DLM # 53 Year Two Begins
Happy mother’s day, everyone. Apologies for a short sermon but the mix will make up for it.
Details in the sermon.
DLM # 52 Ode To Joy (And Liberation)
52 weeks of liberation, hope it’s been enjoyable for you. For me, it’s been a loving way to grow in wisdom and freedom and peace by watching the way inner dynamics shift and churn from dark to light and back again. Making peace with the truth of ourselves and striving to do no harm, striving to share peace and joy and love, it’s the best we can do and it’s more than enough.
Dancing makes it all easier and more en-joy-able.
DLM # 51 Nothing is More Precious Than Peace of Mind
Is there anything more precious than peace of mind? I think everything emanates outward from that peaceful center. If we can achieve this reality within ourselves, then we can achieve it in the world around us. This is why making peace is such a personal intimate issue since the difference between peace and war starts right within our own hearts and minds.
DLM # 50 "This is Kali Yuga, Baby"
Here we are, everyone! How wonderful and weird and bizarre and transformative.
Keep dancing, keep smiling.
DLM # 49 Disco Resurrection (or Baptism by Disco)
It’s so easy when you know how. Just let go and dance. Don’t think, don’t talk, don’t worry—just dance. It’ll change your frequency, and then, from that more refined energetic frequency, you can be more useful to your own life and to the life of the world. This is what rebirth means.
DLM # 48 Avoidance Fallacies
I’m not sure if it’s wise to avoid talking about other, non-pandemic related important issues so that is what I do here today.
Definitely crank up the volume and dance your butt off, it’s the best way to release some powerful love into the world which is what we need so much of right now.
DLM # 47 Fear Is A Luxury We Cannot Afford
Everything is in the music and in the sermon.
Take good care of yourselves.
Dancing is a great way to do that!
