DLM # 46 One Plague Destroys Another

I’m sure you have heard by now how fear and stress weaken the immune system, right?

But it’s not just your body’s immune system that gets weakened, the entire collective body, which includes the planet, the stars, the whole universe, are ALL weakened by fear.

When we constellate and generate fear and stress in our lives, we make each other sick. This happens under normal circumstances, too. So sharing messages and experiences of fear are counter-productive, if healing and peace and harmony are what you really seek.

The truth may be that you don’t actually want to generate peace and harmony. It may be the truth that you are addicted to energies of fear. So you keep creating more of it. This is the real poison, the real virus of our times, our unconscious addiction to systems of darkness.

Here is our chance to change and grow and evolve. Seize this chance with all your might!

As always, dancing is a miraculous way to generate freedom in the heart and peace in the soul.

Do your utmost! When you constellate and generate beauty and harmony in your own self, you offer it as a gift to the entire collective.

Godspeed to us all.

DLM Sermon # 45 A Grateful Heart

It’s a very dreamy sort of week. Here are some good music and interesting soulful ideas to mull over while you dance.

Not sure about you, but I AM NOT riding the hysteria train to Feartown.

The best way to avoid becoming infected us to avoid the news and focusing instead on elevating our frequencies to keep everyone enveloped in love and peace.

Why not achieve this by dancing?

DLM Sermon # 44 Confucius Says . . .

If you are reading this right now, I want to urge you not to be part of the fear brigade.

Don’t allow the media to control your energetic frequencies.

Engage with wisdom where ever you find it, listen to music, dance.

Don’t join the parade of ignorance and fear.

DLM Sermon #43 How to Know Thyself (Already!)

You know, I fail to acknowledge that some people had normal and healthy upbringings with kind and wise parents who guided them into civilized lives free from too much dysfunction so that the period of youth is not marked by too much confusion or bad decisions. If that is you, mazel tov!

Many of us had a tough time, though, learning the hard way how to make good decisions and how to stop making bad ones.

Either way, you can always dance and know thyself better.

DLM Sermon # 38 Can We Live With Less?

Taking personal responsibility for how our consciousness behaves and how it shows up in the world is a major tenet of spiritual practice here at the DLM.

This week I talk about how our desires and attachments and habits materialize darkly in the world. I ask whether we can learn to live with less, not just less material gain, but less ambition and less greed.

As always, dancing can lead us away from unconsciousness and toward liberation.

It’s up to us to do the work and walk the path.

DLM Sermon # 37 Make Peace Not war

I think perhaps most people regard creativity as a process reserved only for artists. But actually, we are all creating things all day long with our thoughts and attitudes. This is why being peaceful is a creative act, one that, like every other creative act, begins somewhere and then grows and grows.

This is why this week I talk about making peace as a creative act.

A lot of amazing good music (shout out to Ted for supplying the first song on the mix!) this week, so close your eyes (and your mouth!) and dance.

DLM Sermon # 36 How To Stop Living in Fear

Living in fear, unconsciously attached to our own ideas, thoughts, and habits, this causes us to be inflexible, and it also causes us to contribute to a climate of fear and war and hatred and all the stuff the media pumps into our heads all day long.

None of that stuff is real, not when we unplug our consciousness from the megaphone of fear.

Dancing and being free go hand in hand. Only when we are free in ourselves can the world mirror our inner world.

If we want a more peaceful world, we have to go from the inside out.

Epic music this week, so shut up and dance!

DLM Sermon # 35 Which Life Should We Live?

Happy New Year, friends, and welcome to the Decade of Disco.

Today I offer some musings on how to know which life we are living and how to perhaps pick the life that makes us our souls sing.

There is some epic music, as well, a mix called Tako’s Mix that I have recently come across and love. I’m in the middle of writing my final papers so I didn’t have time to make my own mix this week. This one is very good, though, so I don’t think you’ll be mad about it.

Dance! And love yourself and the world enough to engage deeply everyday.

With love.

DLM Sermon # 33 What Is The Utility of Darkness?

Happy Holy Days, Dancers!

It’s such an exciting time of year to be grateful for the not-so-little things we take for granted every day, like our eyesight and our feet! Imagine if you couldn’t see—how different and difficult your life would be!

Take time to love and appreciate the body that gives you life and permits you to commune with the soul of love and beauty through dancing.

I have uploaded a special Christmas music mix that was created many years ago by a friend of mine—DJ Mark. It’ a wonderful mix to listen to on Christmas day while you are cooking and celebrating.

I’ll check in with you again before the new decade arrives. Clean out the old stuff in your heart and in your closets, make room for the new and the numinous.

Big love for everyone.

DLM Sermon # 32 What It Means To Be A Grown Up

As I mentioned at the beginning of this week’s sermon, life can’t always be sunshine and roses. Sometimes things get really hard and we have to be upstanding and honorable enough to work hard.

Waking up is hard work.

But as long as we have music and dancing we will be safe on the journey because love and beauty will be with us to keep us safe from the effects of realizing that hatred and sorrow also exist deep inside of us, side by side with joy and freedom.

Dancing is magic, music is love. Weave a tapestry from their threads and wear it like a coat of armor on your journey of awakening.

Sermon # 31 Heart and Soul Dynamics

This week, I speak about the necessity for listening to the heart and nurturing its relationship with the soul and explain why it’s so dangerous to forego this in favor of a mind consciousness gone rogue.

Part two of my Ever Deeper all vinyl mix leads the way for today’s dance ritual.

Big love to you and yours.

Sermon # 30 Tomorrow Never Knows

Two points of business to take care of today.

First, today’s sermon totally rocks. I listened to it twice yesterday and it’s just filled with so much common sense and beauty. The thing is that an archetype of a female disco prophet speaks through me so I, my ego self, listens to her also, and I try to remember that it’s not me, per se, but her speaking. I hope my critics will remember that, too. I’ve been doing what Rilke calls “huge obedience” to her since my childhood days.

Second, my BFF was visiting me over Thanksgiving and she came up with such a hilarious joke about the president and American politicians in general and how they are constantly launching “weapons of mass annoyance.” Normal people can do that, too, it seems to me. Anyway, I used this joke in the sermon but in reference to weapons of mass delusion, which we all also launch into the world every day.

It occurs to me that if individuals remain stubbornly deluded, they help to keep the world deluded. So it comes down to each of us to step up our game and shed the delusions.

For music today, I have a terrifically emo rainy Sunday morning mix for a more contemplative dance session.

Keep on rocking in the aether, disco congregants.

Here are today’s offerings, with love.

Sermon # 29 Truth Don Die

Listen, man, I’m not here to always coddle you guys. It’s the job of the prophet to bring the message of the gods to the people. And the people right now (as with the people every other time the gods felt the need to send a messenger) can be a bit shallow and self-absorbed. Even the ones who think they’re very smart and advanced are still a bit self-absorbed without realizing it. This means every now and then a bit of tough love has to come your way. Don’t be defensive. Accept responsibility for your own unconsciousness and resolve to grow. That’s the really sophisticated way to handle criticism and you can tell how childish or or how refined you are by the way you react to criticism.

I finally got into my vinyl for the music this week. I have set up a rather fierce aural threshold guardian you must pass through to get the glittery stuff. The way of the work always goes through the nigredo phase.

Ever deeper we go.

Sermon # 28 Silver Water, Starry Earth

I’m so grateful for the feedback I received last week from a beautiful woman named Claire Savage. She told me that sometimes it sounds like I’m talking to god and sometimes it sounds like I’m talking to my dad. She said the former is profound and the latter creepy. She didn’t say creepy but she meant that when I talk to my dad I get ensnared in his world of lies and deceit and this takes away from the godly work I’m called to do here. At least that’s how it feels to me. I think we can all get caught up in conversations with whatever realm our dark side comes from. Claire wisely advised me (and all of us) to keep that stuff in the sidecar but not to let it lose sight of the purpose of our journey.

In today’s sermon, I talk about the work and effort it takes to turn lead into gold. To turn our anger into love and our hatred into generosity. It does take work. And that’s the whole point.

Also, I was having technical difficulties with my recording device today so I am uploading a DJ set made by someone else but I can’t tell you who made it because if I do, he will send hired goons over here to break my legs. Not a too nice person made this mix but we shouldn’t take that out on the music which remains pure and holy.

Enjoy!

Sermon # 27 Unicorn Light

I’m on the road this week which is why the sermon is a day late. I’m coming off a fun dance party at school this weekend, and new dreams have been planted in hallowed soul ground since the party did a purification process, sort of like what happens when a unicorn places the tip of her horn into a lake and purifies the water.

So, without further ado, here is this week’s offering.
