DLM # 142 Something's Fishy 🐬

Intuitively sensing that mind is trapped in matter, I wrote a sermon and then started reading Paramahansa Yogananda’s analysis of the Bhagavad Gita, where just now I came away with the astonishing statement: “all matter is thought.” And thought is an elemental aspect of of mind. It’s exciting to be here with you and share knowledge through words, but I will tell you, I’m starting to find that only deep meditation produces real knowledge. Everything else is just theoretical or conceptual knowledge which is often mistaken and deluded.

DLM # 141 Where Is Our Volition Carrying Us?

I think it’s a pretty good sermon this week, but gentle friends, I am working on so many projects that I have no music mix again. Maria Popova speaks of the “Ode to Joy” today in her blog, so I’m inspired to listen to Beethoven’s ninth symphony in its entirety and am suggesting you do the same. When you do listen to it from beginning to end, keep in mind the lyrics that I’ve posted here for you. They will make you quake with ecstasy.

With love until next week (and scroll down for link to sermon!)

An die Freude

Freude, schöner Götterfunken,
Tochter aus Elysium,
Wir betreten feuertrunken,
Himmlische, dein Heiligtum!
Deine Zauber binden wieder
Was die Mode streng geteilt*;
Alle Menschen werden Brüder*
Wo dein sanfter Flügel weilt.

Wem der große Wurf gelungen
Eines Freundes Freund zu sein;
Wer ein holdes Weib errungen
Mische seinen Jubel ein!
Ja, wer auch nur eine Seele
Sein nennt auf dem Erdenrund!
Und wer's nie gekonnt, der stehle
Weinend sich aus diesem Bund!

Freude trinken alle Wesen
An den Brüsten der Natur;
Alle Guten, alle Bösen
Folgen ihrer Rosenspur.
Küsse gab sie uns und Reben,
Einen Freund, geprüft im Tod;
Wollust ward dem Wurm gegeben
und der Cherub steht vor Gott.

Froh, wie seine Sonnen fliegen
Durch des Himmels prächt'gen Plan
Laufet, Brüder, eure Bahn,
Freudig, wie ein Held zum Siegen.

Seid umschlungen, Millionen!
Diesen Kuß der ganzen Welt!
Brüder, über'm Sternenzelt
Muß ein lieber Vater wohnen.
Ihr stürzt nieder, Millionen?
Ahnest du den Schöpfer, Welt?
Such' ihn über'm Sternenzelt!
Über Sternen muß er wohnen.

Ode: To Joy

Joy, beautiful spark of Divinity [or: of gods],
Daughter of Elysium,
We enter, drunk with fire,
Heavenly one, thy sanctuary!
Thy magic binds again
What custom strictly divided;*
All people become brothers,*
Where thy gentle wing abides.

Whoever has succeeded in the great attempt,
To be a friend's friend,
Whoever has won a lovely wife,
Add his to the jubilation!
Yes, and also whoever has just one soul
To call his own in this world!
And he who never managed it should slink
Weeping from this union!

All creatures drink of joy
At nature's breasts.
All the Just, all the Evil
Follow her trail of roses.
Kisses she gave us and grapevines,
A friend, proven in death.
Ecstasy was given to the worm
And the cherub stands before God.

Gladly, as His suns fly
through the heavens' grand plan
Journey, brothers, on your way,
Joyful, like a hero to victory.

Be embraced, Millions!
This kiss to all the world!
Brothers, above the starry canopy
There must dwell a loving Father.
Are you collapsing, millions?
Do you sense the creator, world?
Seek him above the starry canopy!
Above stars must He dwell.

DLM # 140 Psyche & Soma

Have a great week! You are what you eat : ) You reap what you sow, you know, you know you know!

This week’s music is from my good friend Juan Nunez and his Friday night Twitch live DJ sets he does, it’s called Welcometoclubn. This week’s set was called Ride The Cosmic Wave, link below.

DLM # 139 Big Sky Consciousness

Happy Mother’s Day and Happy third birthday to the Disco Liberation Movement. Things are really heating up behind the scenes here, and exciting events are on the horizon. For now, let’s work on digging our way out of the illusions into the bright light of big sky consciousness.

DLM 137 Grace Descends

Most of us who’ve been around the block a few times know by now that the pain of losing someone to whom you have grown accustomed is part of life’s experience. Of these so-called losses, death is the most significant, since it is seen as irrevocable and final. I do not deny that this is the case in many instances. It’s just that today, and for this time in my life, it does not apply to my experience. For me, death has been a temporary event—a vehicle of faith, wisdom, and grace.

This week’s sermons were mostly written during the intense period of grieving and deep transformation. They come directly from the numinous mystery regions of love where I dwelled during my initiation process. Only the final sermon in the group was written more recently.

DLM # 136 Making Space For The Miraculous

With gratefulness, I accept your understanding! I have yet to establish myself in a new routine and caring for Georgie’s recovery remains my top priority so I have only words and no music again this week. I once again invite you to listen to the numerous mixes already there on my Soundlcoud page until I finally find my way back to the music. Thank you for praying for us. xoxo

DLM # 134 Letting Go Of The Heroic way

I’ve learned a lot from the events of the past two weeks, about which I speak in this week’s sermon. I think the best we can ask for is to learn from our mistakes and take personal responsibility for them. Then the way forward can open a pathway toward grace and humility.

My little family and I have started a GoFundMe for Georgie’s medical bills so she can access the care she needs for a full recovery. She’s doing really well and full recovery is within our reach.

Thank you for your support and prayers!

DLM # 133 Healing & Quiet & Peace

Dear Friends,

For the first time in over three years, I am unable to produce a sermon. My dog, Georgie, is taken ill and I must tend to her completely. There are many lessons that I am learning during this terrifying and harrowing experience which I look forward to sharing with you next week when I have had time to consider everything.

In the meantime, I ask for your prayers that Georgie may achieve a full recovery. She has important scholarly work to attend to and she needs her good health for that.

DLM # 132 On Finding Freedom 🌀

Good one this week, I found it very helpful.

DLM # 131 The Affirmative Hero 👑

As always, keen discernment is a golden key that can unlock many doors.

DLM # 130 Hail The Victorious Dead 🍺🦋

Three supplementary items here: a photo of where I was sitting when I wrote today’s sermon, a photo of the Bohemian cemetery mentioned, and a video by Sadhguru explaining the way the mind is a reality-creation-factory we must train so we can consciously and consistently manifest peace, joy, and love.

Vyšehrad Cemetery

Nice place to sit and write!

DLM # 129 A Coronation Event 👑

A halo of light encircling a radiant object.

DLM # 128 Goddess Reclamation Projects 🌚

Here is a photo of Prague according to the tram system (notice the mandala-esque design), and a cool Gothic tower. Plus, this week’s wisdom and musical libations. Enjoy!
